Said Khan (39 years) Birmingham
Camping in Quimper (Brittany) in one of those long, hot summers in the late 1970s. I think I must have been fifteen - I was as fragile as a dream, strong as a man. The catchy song on the radio - what could it be? Who could it be? It was my first visit to France and I strained to hear the DJ as he gave the name - something about "Monday, Tuesday". I ran to the local record shop and somehow managed to gesture which one I wanted. How could I wait to get back to England to play it? Never mind, it was on the radio all that endless summer. Thus began a lifelong love affair with France and most importantly with that singer, the Divine Dalida. "Let me dance tonight, dance tonight, so that I can feel that she's still by my side, by my side..."
